Roger Deon Williams, 42, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on November 29, 2019 at North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville. A native of Gainesville, Roger was a lifelong resident of Palatka, born on Saturday, September 24, 1977 to Eddie and Zola (Chandler) Williams, Jr. In 1994, he subsequently earned his high school diploma from Daytona State College. In 2000, he completed truck driving training school and was a truck driver for 19 years. Roger enjoyed watching sports, fishing, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Roger was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and father. Roger's vibrant smile and sweet spirit touched numerous lives up to the day that the Lord called him home.
Roger was preceded in eternal rest by his father, Eddie Williams, Jr., paternal grandparents, Eddie Williams, Sr. (Willie Mae Lang Williams); maternal grandparents, Willie C. Chandler, Dessie Lee Chandler; uncles, Frank Floyd, Edward Chandler, Roosevelt Williams; aunts, Shirley Floyd, Lola Chandler; nephews, Khiry Fuqua, Kenneth Williams, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his legacy of love: loving mother, Zola Mae (Chandler) Williams, Palatka; son, Rahjah Williams, Palm Coast; sisters, Willie Mae Williams, Carolyn Ann Williams, both of Palatka; Deloris Williams (David) Akers, Indiana; Lisa Williams, Ormond Beach; Tangela (Cecil) Williams, New Smyrna Beach; brothers, Thomas (LaRhonda) Williams, Palm Coast; Bernard Williams, Robbie Williams, Kenneth Williams, Emanuel Williams, all of Palatka; Bryan (Doris) Williams, Georgia; Carl Williams, Roy Lee Williams, Curtis Williams, Flemington; Levy Williams, Alachua; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Roger's Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, December 7 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity" with visitation 12-2 p.m. The Discourse will be led by Nathaniel Williams.
