IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Dale
Smith
March 10, 1969 – April 17, 2020
Robert Dale Smith, 51, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. The son of Mother Ruby (Charlie) Evans Thomas and Curtis Brown, he was born on Monday, March 10, 1969 in Douglas, GA. In 1972, Robert and his family relocated to Palatka. He was educated in the Putnam County School District, and attended Palatka High School (Class of 1987). Thereafter, Robert was employed by Wendy's, Atlas Truss, Motes Landscaping, and concluded his employment career with the City of Palatka public works department. He enjoyed gardening and fixing things. The best hobby of all was cutting hair for family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his maternal grandparents, George Washington Evans, Ella Benbow Evans; great-grandmother, Jarusso Benbow; niece, Latricia P. Smith; aunts, Rosa Lee Thompson, Theo Evans, and Allie Moore; cousins, Allison Moore, Carlos Jackson, Daniel Evans; special friend, Danny Bronson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Monique D. Smith; sister, Tina Smith Williams; brothers, Stanford Smith, Reginald Smith, all of Palatka; nieces, Shanora Smith, Palatka; Ajoria Duncan, Douglas, GA; nephews, Anterio L. Smith, Sr., St. Augustine; Roderick V. Bartley, Kevin M. Bartley, La'Zayeus L. Barley, all of Palatka; goddaughter, Tyruh D. Hunter; special friend, Celia Hankerson; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Andre Purdy, the Hobbs' Brothers, James Parker.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the Governor's executive stay-at-home order, the Smith family will conduct a private Homegoing Service. A limited, socially-distanced visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m., on Saturday, April 25 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity."
