Robert George Reese, 94, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at his residence. A native of Evanston, IL, he was born on Sunday, July 10, 1921 to Nathaniel Reese and Annabelle Scott Reese. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran, attaining the rank of Corporal earning the Victory Medal Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Battle stars; 3 overseas bars; and the Good Conduct Medal, His tours include service in Germany, India, and Burma. Tech 5 Reese was honorably discharged in 1946 at Fort Sheridan, IL. Following his military service, he was employed with Western Electric in Chicago, IL for 35 years. He was an active member of St. Stephens A.M.E. Church in Chicago, where he served on the Men's Trustee Board. After raising six children, he and his wife, Maggie moved to Florida for retirement and relaxation. He became an active member of the VFW "Bass Capital" Post #10177 in Crescent City in 1981, serving as Surgeon since 1995. In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in eternal rest by his son, Robert Edward Reese. He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Patricia Rice and Oda Price, both of Chicago, IL, two stepsons, Raymond C. (Wendy) Reese, Chicago, IL, Kenneth (Kelly) Reese, Dallas, TX; 9 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be from 10-11 a.m. with the Homegoing Celebration commencing at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 8 at New Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1227 Old Highway 17, Crescent City. Reverend E.L. Yorker, retired Pastor of New Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, is the Eulogist. Interment will be next week in the Reese's family plot in the Lincoln Cemetery, Chicago, IL.,
