Robert Lee McHellen, 65, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Putnam Community Medical Center. A native of Hastings, Robert was born on Tuesday, March 14, 1950 to Robert and Ethel (Heath) McHellen. He was educated in the Putnam County School District. Over the years, he was formerly employed with ITT Wadsworth Lumber Company, Beck Nissan, and the City of Palatka-Streets Department, respectively. Robert was a mechanic who enjoyed working on cars and fixing lawn mowers. Robert was preceded in eternal rest by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife; Annette Williams McHellen, Palatka; sons, Calvester (Teresa) Cason, Marius Deon McHellen, both of Palatka; daughter, Tonya McHellen, Palatka; sisters, Rutha Lee (David) Bailey, Alberta McHellen, both of Palatka; aunt, Beatrice Knowles, East Palatka; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The McHellens have planned a private family memorial service.
