Robert Charles Lowe, Jr., 64, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. The son of Robert Charles Lowe, Sr. and Rosa Ella Collins, he was born on Friday, July 27, 1951 in Jacksonville. He was a 1969 graduate of Eugene J. Butler High School. Upon graduation, he relocated to Fairfield, CA, where he resided for 43 years and was a "Chief Maintainer" (Manager) with the Ball Company, retiring after 32 years of commendable service. Robert was a member of Bethel Community Church of Fairfield and served as a Church Trustee. In 2012, Robert returned to Jacksonville and became a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. In 2014, Robert relocated to Palatka and was united in marriage to Carol A. Dallas and subsequently joined Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church and the Men's Ministry. He was an original member of the former singing group, "Swinging Soulsters" of Jacksonville. He enjoyed traveling, eating soul food, and was a superb "grill master."
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in eternal rest by his 1st wife, Frances Homes Lowe; paternal grandmother, Mary Lowe.
He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife, Carol A. Dallas-Lowe, Palatka; sons & daughters, Adrian (Alicia) Lowe, Atlanta, GA; Dawnyel (LaQuan) Lowe-Secrease, Oakland, CA; Frederick "Jody" C. (Nikki) Edwards, Fleming Island, L'Tracy (Rufus) Borom, Palatka; Jeremy (Ivana) Edwards, Melrose; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Christopher Lowe, South FL; sisters, Santora Lowe, Pamela McQueen, both of Jacksonville; step-mother, Mozella Williams, Jacksonville; aunt, Catherine Little, Jacksonville; special uncle, Douglas (Geisler) Lowe, Vacaville, CA; goddaughters, Felicia D. Nelson, Palatka; Shacora Curry, Gainesville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ralph "Danny" (Dorothy) Dallas, Jr., Palatka; Larry (LaSongia) Dallas, Sr., Daytona Beach, Karen (Elijah) Session, Wade (Terri) Dallas, Sr., Everett (Tangela) Dallas, Sr., all of East Palatka; Pastor Angela (Donald) Johnson, Deland; Patrick (Shaprell) Dallas, Orlando; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, August 5 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 6, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Pastor is the Eulogist and Reverend Anthony L. Gilmore, Pastor of Bethel Community Church, Fairfield, CA., presiding.
