Green, Sr.
April 7, 1971 – February 17, 2021
Robert Earl Green, Sr., 49, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Putnam Community Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka and the ninth child of Jessie Green Sr., and Mary Jane Green, he was born on Wednesday, July 7, 1971. He was educated in the Putnam County School District and a 1991 graduate of Palatka High School. In his early years, he was a member of Faith Bible Way, Palatka, under the leadership of Elder James Clark. Robert was an entrepreneur who owned and operated a trucking company. He was a highly-skilled truck driver and was also a handy man, construction worker and scaffolding director. He was a devoted man who loved his family and adored his two sons. There was never a dull moment with him and his hobbies included fishing, hunting, dog-training, and fixing-up older model cars.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in eternal rest by his sister, Kathy Green; brother, Isaac Green.
He leaves to cherish his memories: beloved mother, Mary Jane Green; sons, Robert Earl Green, Jr., Devonta Reshard Green; 8 sisters , Lytina "Tan" McCullough, Rosa Fields, Adeline Green, Mary Jane Green, all of Palatka; Ossie Green, Jacksonville; Sallie (Corey) Thomas, New Orleans, LA; Josephine Green, Buffalo, NY; Barbara Green, Hawthorne; brothers, Willie (Crystal) Green, Bobby (Michelle) Green, Hawthorne; Kenny (Leisha) Johnson, Gainesville; Moses (Rose) Green, Jacksonville; godson, Kelvin Moore; godmothers, Penny Keenon, Mary Milton ; 2 aunts, 1 uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines including masks with social distancing is required. A visitation will be held from 6:30-8 p.m., Friday, February 26 and a Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 27, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity". Superintendent Antonio V. Ruth, Zion Temple Church of God in Christ, is the eulogist.
