Robert John "Bob" Cruze, Sr., 81, of Georgetown, entered the sunset of life on Monday, September 25, 2023 at his residence. He was born on Palm Sunday, 29 March 1942, to John (Chruszcz) and Pauline (Lucas) Cruze in Chisholm, MN. He graduated from Chisholm High School in 1962. In 1963, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Later that year, he was assigned to the USS Hornet as a radarman, spending a good deal of his time around Vietnam. When he was discharged in 1967, he had achieved the Rank of Petty Officer. He was a life member of the VFW. He retired from the MinnTac division of US Steel in 1997. He attended Hibbing Junior College and co-owned a gun dealership, working as a gunsmith. He was a competitive shooter, locksmith, web developer, and a Licensed Ham Radio Operator. He was also a volunteer emergency management worker during events such as Y2K in St Louis County, MN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to music, watching movies, reading, and he tried his hand at writing a series of books. He came to Putnam County in 2000 and spent part time hours at both Sykes and PCR call centers. He had been a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crescent City until his health declined. On 12 August 2000 he married Evelyn Dabelko Woods, who survives him. Other survivors include his sons, Robert, Jr., Richard; daughter, Tracy Cruze; one grandson, Nicholas Cruze, all of Chisholm; cousin, Barbara Stark, of Minneapolis; brother-in-law (whom he chatted with every day), David Dabelko of Athens, Ohio; mother of his children, Kathy (Sundquist) Cruze of Chisholm; and his three precious pups, Cuddles, Mandy, and Maggie Mae.

Bob had many friends and was known for his willingness to help others and having a different joke everyday.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
