Robert Lorenzo Brooks, 62, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 after a brief illness. A native of Palatka, he was the son of Mary L Johnson and K I Tatum, born on November 15, 1956. He spent his early years in Newark, NJ., and was a graduate of Valisburg High School. He was employed at Kings Supermarket for many years. He later joined the U.S. Marine Corps, and was stationed in numerous places and learned many things while serving his country. Due to medical conditions, he was required to be discharged early. Robert enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends and was affectionately known to most as brother. In 2007, he returned to Florida to become a caregiver to his mother. He was employed as a security guard for U.S. Security Associates and retired in 2018.
