Mr. Ricky "Buster" Hunt, the son of Mae Retha "Teenie" and William Hunt, was born on Saturday, November 19, 1960 in Gainesville. He was educated in the Alachua County School District at Santa Fe High School, Alachua. Ricky was a lover of music and expressed his love for music as D.J. Kool-Aid for many years.  He was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, kids, and extended family.  Ricky was a bass guitar player; he also enjoyed cooking and grilling for his family and friends.  Ricky was a member of Foundation Chapel Church of God by Faith and attended services regularly, but he especially enjoyed watching his daughters participate in the youth services. He was a former employee of the Dollar General Warehouse Alachua for several years. He was also a devoted and loyal Gator fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his grandparents, Susie Mae and Rayfield Campbell; brother, William James Campbell; best friend, Calvin Jonas.

Ricky departed this earthly life to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at UF Health Shands, Gainesville. He will be missed by all who knew him, but certainly not forgotten.

Ricky leaves to cherish his loving memories: wife, Latasha Ross-Hunt; 2 daughters, Ja'Kayla Hunt, Leah Jackson; son, Ricky Joel Hunt, all of Alachua; 2 sisters, Frances Hunt, Gainesville; Brigette Hunt-Sowell, Pensacola; 3 brothers, Pastor Charles (Sharline) Hunt, Lake Butler; Willie (Nellie) Hunt, Louis (Ruth) Green; all of Alachua; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

Visitation of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 3, at Foundation Chapel COGBF, 13220 NW 150th Ave , Alachua. Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 4, at Jerusalem COGBF, 1230 NE 156th Ave, Gainesville. Interment: Newnansville Cemetery, Alachua.
