Rhonda Kay Augustin-James was born on Friday, November 15, 1974, in Eustis, Florida to the parentage of  George Augustin, Sr. and Rosa Lee Ryals.

Rhonda attended Clay County Public Schools and pursued her post-secondary education at United Education Institute, earning a certificate as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist. Later in life she aimed for a career in truck driving and obtained her Commercial Driver's License.

Rhonda enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, especially her wonderful grandchildren. She enjoyed driving all over the United States with her husband. She was always the life of the party and she enjoyed life to the fullest. Her infectious smile would light up a room. Rhonda was a loving wife, daughter, mother, and friend.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her father, George Augustin, Sr. and brother, Ted Ryals. She departed this life to rest from all her labor on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

Lasting and wonderful memories of Rhonda will forever rest in the hearts of her husband, Lawrence James, Jr. of Orange Park, FL; children: Shakevia Gardner, Nitori Davis,  Dakari Augustin, Rosie Augustin, and Lamar Smith all of Jacksonville, FL and Lawrence James III of West Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren: Persephone Augustin and Kelina Pinkston both of Jacksonville, FL; mother, Rosa Lee Ryals; siblings: Angela Berryhill of Middleburg, FL, Leroy Payne of Jacksonville, FL, Steve Augustin, George Augustin, Jr., and Linda Cothiere, all of Miami, FL, Stanlius Emmanuel of St. Lucia, and Lennius Emmanuel of Canada; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
