Rebecca "Beck" Rasher, 83, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at her daughter's residence. The daughter of Melvin and Essie (Middlebrook) Rasher, she was a native of Jacksonville born on Wednesday, November 2, 1938. She was a graduate of Central Academy High School, Class of 1957. She was a retired Putnam County School District Food Service employee, serving at Central Academy High and Mellon Elementary Schools, respectively. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she also served as a kitchen aide. She enjoyed fishing and cooking, and was an avid Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars sports fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her sons, Tony Rasher, Darrell "Hayes" Rasher; grandson, Darrell D. Rasher; siblings, Arthur Turk, Roosevelt, Raymond, and Julia Rasher.
She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted daughter, Constance (Lutrell, Sr.) Smith; beloved sons, Reginald (Mushawna) Rasher, Sr.; Andre Rasher; Palatka; Derrick (Niki Nichole) Rasher, Pensacola; 18 grandchildren, Derrick Rasher, Jr., Fort Hood, TX, Kahyin and Xzayah Rasher, San Antonio, TX, Aniya Rasher, Pensacola; Christian Slater, San Mateo; Lutrell Smith, Jr., and Lavarus Smith, Palatka; Crystal (Reggie Fullwood) Rasher, Jacksonville; Darrell "DJ" Rasher, Tallahassee; Darrell Lamar "Haze" Rasher, Palatka; Andrea Rasher, Maryland; Andre Rasher, Jr., Sharlon Rasher, Virginia and Sanjiah Rasher, all of Palatka; Reginald (Esshaunda) Rasher, Jr., Sha'Leah Rasher, Augusta, GA; Za'Kariya Rasher, Tallahassee, JaKelvis Lockhart, Houston, TX; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rutha Mae Young, Bessie Riley, Boston, MA; sister-in-law, Arbanna Rasher; "just like daughters," Elizabeth (Harold) Nealy; Christine Norwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation of Family and Friends: 5-7 p.m., May 20, at Flagg's Chapel of Serenity. Celebration of Life: 11 a.m., May 21, at Calvary MBC Family Life Center, 1414 Bronson Street, Palatka, Rev. Herbert L. Johnson, Jr., Senior Pastor, officiating; Rev. Frederick T. Demps, Pastor Emeritus. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
