Raymond Richard Alonzo Hodge, Jr., 39, of Maui, Hawaii, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. A native of Laurelton, NY, Raymond was the son of Raymond Sr., and Urita Knowles Hodge, born on Monday, September 29, 1975. He was a graduate of Springfield Gardens High School, Queens, NY, and subsequently continued his pursuit of education at the New School of Social Research, New York City. Ray, Jr. had a flair for modeling and appeared as an extra in the movie, "The Best Man." He was a gifted artist and a novice floor layer who was a member of the NYC Council of Carpenters, following in his father's footsteps. He was an entrepreneur who made his living and supported his family through his diverse business ventures under Arch Galleries. He was a very kind and gentle soul with a loving and humble spirit, who always looked out for the interests of others. Ray, Jr. loved the Lord and he loved his children more than anything in the world. He loved all art forms particularly, sculpting, painting, and jewelry making. He also enjoyed traveling, listening to music, exploring philosophy, nature and campfires. He leaves to cherish his memories: parents, Raymond & Urita Hodge, Sr., Palm Coast, FL; children, Isis and Changa Hodge, (PA); Lionella and Perseus Hodge, (HI); sisters, Donna Gaines, (NJ); Daphne McCarty, (NY); Karyn Hodge, (MD); Danine Hodge, (GA); Darlene (Larry) Hunt, (NY); special cousin "brother-in-heart" Alex Higdon, (NC); and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and a myriad of friends. Visitation of family and friends will be from 1-3 p.m. with A Celebration of Life at 3 p.m., Saturday, August 29 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Pastor Erick Knowles, of Champion's Ministries International, Orlando, is the officiant. Interment will be in Pattersonville Memorial Cemetery, East Palatka.
