Davis, Sr.
February 18, 1954 – October 19, 2021
Raymond Lorenzo Davis, Sr., 67, of Ocala (formerly Palatka), entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. The son of Lillian McMillan Brinson, Lee and Mamie Davis, he was born on Thursday, February 18, 1954. He was educated in the Putnam County School District and a graduate of Palatka South High School. Raymond was employed at the former Hudson Paper Company (now G-P) and subsequently joined the military and served in the U.S. Marine Corps, earning an honorable discharge. He was of the Christian faith. During his early years, he was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. He was an avid traveler and reader. Raymond loved and admired art and music.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in eternal rest by his adopted parents, Lee and Mamie E. Davis; stepfather, Toney Brinson, Sr.; grandmothers, Mary McMillan, Beatrice Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters and sons , Aloha Shentae Davis, Raymond L. Davis, Jr., Raymonda L. Davis, Shane (Melissa) Davis; grandchildren , Kyra Gulbis Davis, Shane Jr., Jonterio, Jordan, Raymond III, Jarell, Jevin, Viola; brother , Apostle Toney A. (Apostle Deatrice) Brinson; sister , Linda Davis (Charlie) Francis ; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives, and close friends.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines: Visitation of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, October 27. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 28 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity", 2400 Madison Street, Palatka. Apostle Toney A. Brinson, Total Grace and Mercy Ministries, officiating. Interment with U.S. Marines Honor Guard conducting military honors will be in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
