Obituary

Ralph "Marlowe" Porter, 62, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. The son of Emory Porter, Sr. and Celeste Evans Porch, he was a native of Palatka, born on Thursday, March 19, 1953. His early education was in the Putnam County School District and he graduated in the Hudson County, New Jersey School District. Marlowe was employed with the former Cameron Building Supply Company in Palatka back in the early 1970's. He enjoyed playing chess, singing, fishing and simply spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his son, Tyrone Porter; step-father, Russell Porch; maternal grandparents, Lonnie and Christina Evans.


He leaves to cherish his memories : daughter , April Porter; 3 grandchildren , Tye, Kaden and Autumn Porter, all of Virginia Beach, VA; brother , Emory Porter, Jr. Harlem, NY; sister, Luretha Porter, Long Island NY; niece , Latonia Hubbard, Long Island, NY; and a host of devoted cousins and caring friends .


Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, February 5 and the Homegoing celebration will be 11 am, Saturday, February 6, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity" 2400 Madison Street, Palatka, FL. Reverend Theodore McRae, Associate Minister, Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, is the eulogist.
