Raleigh McMillon, Jr., 85, longtime resident of Georgetown, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at his residence. The son of Raleigh McMillon, Sr. and Sarah Cook, he was born on Friday, August 1, 1930 in Fort Gates. At an early age, he moved to Riverhead, NY. Raleigh was a long distance truck driver with Lewis & Valentine Trucking Company for over 30 years. Upon retirement, he returned to Georgetown. He was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Church, Georgetown, for many years, where he served as Steward Board Chairman, Lay Organization President, and as an Usher. His hobbies include fishing, and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, Raleigh was preceded in eternal rest by his wife, Martha McMillon.

He leaves to cherish his memories: sons and daughters, Ralena McMillon (Irving Goff), Daniel McMillon, both of Riverhead, NY; Brenda McMillon, Georgetown; Terry McMillon, Steven McMillon, both of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Shalena McMillon, Terrell McMillon, Shelby and Anitra Goff, all of Riverhead, NY; Deshawn and Delvin Oxendine, both of Georgetown; Tenesha, Shaunte, and Tasha Mays, all of Jesup, GA; sisters, Bertha Lee Blakely, Welaka; Louise (Howard) Walker, Georgetown; half-sister, Lillian McMillon Brinson, Albany, GA; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends .

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, June 24 at the church. Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 25, at Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Church, 130 Georgetown Shortcut Road, Georgetown, Reverend Randolph Carter, Pastor, is the Eulogist. Interment will be in the Welaka-Georgetown Cemetery.
