Quilla Elkins "BJ" Donerson, 33, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, March 20, 2016 in Ocala, FL. The son of Quilla Alphonso Elkins, Sr. and Patricia Ann Donerson, he was born on Tuesday, July 6, 1982 in Palatka. He completed his education through Job Corp in Gainesville. He was a resident of Ocala, formerly residing in Gainesville. In his early years, he attended Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. "BJ" was a very mechanically skilled entrepreneur who loved repairing automobiles. His hobbies included writing and traveling, but most of all listening to music.
He was preceded in eternal rest by his brother , Quilla Elkins; maternal grandfather, James Donerson, Sr., uncle , Cleveland Timmons; and aunt , Annie Eva Donerson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: children, Ariel Crumpton, Palatka; Darrell "DJ" Brockington, Kohleigha Williams, both of Daytona Beach; Quilla Donerson, Jr., Ocala; mother , Patricia Donerson Deering, Newberry ; father , Quilla (Grace) Elkins, Sr., Orlando; sisters , Tonge Grant, Cortney Deering, Chelsea Deering, Constance Deering, all of Palatka; La Fonda Elkins, Sanford ; maternal grandmother , Dora B. Donerson; paternal grandmother, Margie Sanders, Palatka; aunts and uncles , Dorothy (David) Elkins-Wright, Barbara Elkins-Wright, James Donerson, Jr., all of Palatka, Ella Whetstone, Mary Anderson, both of Gainesville, Christina (Curtis) Jones, Ocala; Constance (Darryl) Elkins-Brummit, Sanford; Reverend James Baskin, Pensacola; Tommy Donerson, Charlotte, NC; great-aunts, Phyllis Sanders-Dorsett, Miami, Annette Sanders-Maxwell, Palatka; great-great aunts, Maybell Sanders, Carrie Sanders-Jefferson, both of Charleston, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends .
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 pm, Friday, March 25, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 26, at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 N. 19th Street, Palatka, Reverend Anthony Q. Robinson, Sr., Pastor. Assistant Pastor Travis Reynolds, Palatka House of God Church, is the Eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.Visits: 0
