Peggy Fryer, 82, of Daytona Beach, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Daytona Beach Health and Rehab Center.
Peggy Yvonne Fryer, the beloved eldest child of William H. Woodard and Ruby L. Nelson Woodard Pierce, was born on July 25, 1941, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Peggy's journey through life was marked by her dedication to education and her unwavering love for children. She received her early education from the Volusia and Putnam County school systems. She pursued higher education at Daytona Beach Community College, where she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. Peggy's passion for teaching led her to the Montessori School in Daytona Beach, where she became a second mother to many of her students. Throughout her life, Peggy was a beacon of love, always putting others before herself including volunteerism at the local elementary schools. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family to the many lives she touched through her teaching. Peggy's legacy is carried on by those who had the privilege of being guided by her wisdom and kindness.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in eternal rest by her siblings Vivian, Eugenia, Ruben, and Richard, and her three children Ruth Marie, Maria, and Bernard.
She leaves behind a family that will forever cherish her memory. Peggy is survived by her loving daughter, Deborah Parchment of Daytona Beach, Florida; two grandsons whom she raised with immense love: Marquise (Andrea) Henderson of Washington, Illinois, and Matthew (Kristina Carrazana) Henderson of Orange Park, Florida; Oren (Erica) Avery of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Shanita (Orinthius) Brown of South Daytona Beach, Florida; Brian (Yanelle) Cox of Tampa, Florida; Leviticus Cox, Shane (Melissa) Cox, Michael Hogg, Jr., all of Daytona Beach, Florida; Melvece Henderson of Baltimore, Maryland, along with a host of great and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, who will hold her memory dear: Levetta Parker of Palatka, Florida; James Edward Pierce of Ocala, Florida; Connie (Henry) Hutcherson of Lakewood, New Jersey; Brenda Joyce (Carl) Brock of Cinnaminson, New Jersey; and Audrey (James) Davis of Palatka, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will remember her with love and admiration.
