Pauline Lee, 73, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Palatka Center for Rehabilitation and Healing, Palatka. Pauline was born on Sunday, June 19, 1949 in Gretna, Florida. She was the thirteenth child (a twin) born to Sam Lee, Jr. and Mother Pearlie B. Lee. Pauline was a 1969 graduate of Central Academy High School. She was employed by the Florida Department of Corrections and retired in 2012 after seventeen years of service as a correctional officer.
Pauline was a faithful member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership of Reverend Karl N. Flagg, since Sunday, January 24, 1993, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, church event decorator and a member of the choir (Adult & Senior), women's ministry, and mother's board. She was a very passionate student of the word who thoroughly enjoyed studying the Word of God. Her testimony was that she was a born-again, Spirit-filled child of the Most High God.
Pauline also loved to sponsor GRAND celebrations for the holidays and family gatherings. She enjoyed event planning. Her favorite hobby was watching football, especially when the Miami Dolphins were playing.
Above all the many things she accomplished her greatest joy were her children (Kathy and Stephen). Then came the grandchildren. (Alexandra, David, and Ro Laren). She enjoyed spending time with them, especially during Christmas, Birthdays and Holidays.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her 5 brothers; Stanley King, Elder Willie James Lee, Albert Lee, Luther James Lee, Sgt. Ernest Lee; 2 sisters, Mary Frances (Issac) Harris, Missionary Evonne (Robert) Sherman; sister-in-law, Thomasina Beauford Lee.
Pauline leaves to mourn and cherish her life's memories: beloved daughter and son, Kathy Levette Jenkins, Oakland, CA; Steven Dewayne (Vy Thao) Lee, Orlando; three grandchildren, Alexandra Lee, David Lee, and Ro Laren Lee, Orlando; three brothers, John R. (Bertha) Lee, Jacksonville; Jessie J. Lee, Palatka; Oliver "Paul" Edward Lee (twin brother), Ocala; four sisters, Bettye (James) Lee Cooper, East Palatka; Marjorie Lee Holcey, Lake City; Nancy Lee Wright, Palatka; devoted caretakers, Brenda Robinson, Tammy Renee Purdy, and Tyesha Session, all of Palatka; devoted friends, Nancy Purifoy and Vernadine Robinson, both of Palatka; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, saints and friends.
Visitation of family & friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, August 5 at Mt. Tabor. Homegoing Celebration will be 3 p.m., Saturday, August 6 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
