Obituary

Patricia Ann Smith Dauda, 55, of San Diego, CA was called from this earth to her home in heaven on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Point Loma Convalescent Hospital in San Diego following an extended illness. Patricia was a native of St. Augustine, born on Saturday, November 17, 1956 to Jimmie and Hattie Smith and has resided in California since 1990. She was a 1975 graduate of St. Augustine High School. She was united in marriage to Ganiyu Ola Dauda and blessed with three beautiful children. She was formerly employed at Florida School for the Deaf and Blind (taught American Sign Language and Braille), St. Augustine historical (tour guide). She was a graduate of Columbia School of Broadcasting and was formerly employed with Wometco Television Company in Miami, FL. She worked nights as a Front Desk/ Concierge for an upscale condominium residence. She was a member of Power of Life Christian Center (Usher), Circle of Faith (Treasurer), and very active in the Christian Community. Patricia graduated from Annie B. Campbell School of Ministry College and was an ordained Evangelist. She was preceded in eternal rest by her parents. To cherish her memory: son, Tayiib Olashade Dauda, Chicago, IL; two daughters, Latifat Joy Dauda; Ahsaki Hudson; granddaughter, Ahsjhane Carissa Watson; grandson, Andre Duanne Rashan Wesley, all of San Diego, CA; one brother, Jeffery "Duck" Smith; four sisters, Rose Smith Omosa Olufabase, St. Augustine; Hattie Floyd, Ft. Lauderdale; Pauline Mumphrey, Chicago, IL; Joan Morgan, Houston, TX and a host of nieces and nephews, close friends and relatives. Visitation of family and friends will be held 9 a.m. - until time of services. The Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 280 Duval Street, St. Augustine, Rev. Richard Madison Sr., pastor. Interment will be in Sanksville Cemetery, St. Augustine.
