Obituary

Missionary Pamela Thomas Ward, 51, of Palatka, answered the Masters eternal call on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Putnam Community Medical Center. She was the daughter of Henry Sr., & Iola (Mickles) Thomas, born Thursday, May 28, 1959 in Palatka, Florida. She was a graduate of Palatka South High School, Class of 77. She earned an Associates degree at St. Johns River Community College and a Bachelors & Masters Degree in Education at St. Leo University. Pam was presently employed as a first grade teacher at Kelley Smith Elementary School for the past 6 years and over her career was employed by Job Service of Florida, St. Augustine Technical Center, Northeast Private Industry Council, Palatka Housing Authority and Communities in Schools. On February 6, 1982, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Elder Arthur Lee Ward Sr. Pamela accepted Christ at an early age and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost at Pentecostal Church of God In Christ, where she served faithfully for over25 years. Missionary Ward was a devoted member of Zion Temple Church of God In Christ where she was serving as Praise & Worship leader; Youth Department President; and a Sunday School Teacher and a former member of Victorious Faith C.O.G.I.C. She was an unceasing prayer warrior and an anointed woman of God.

She was preceded in eternal rest by her Mother, Iola Thomas; Brothers, William Mims Jr., Isaac Mims, Henry Thomas Jr., Sisters, Betty M. Conners, Rebecca A. Williams, Brenda T. Valentine.

Those who cherish her memories: husband of 28 years, Elder Arthur Lee Ward Sr., Palatka; Children, Arthur Lee Jr., Artavious Sr. and Donte Ward; Palatka; Grandsons, Artarian L. Ward ; Artavious L. Ward, Jr., both of Palatka; Father, Henry (Roxie) Thomas, East Palatka; Brothers, Willie (Annie Mae) Battles, Sr., Johnson; Timothy (Pamala) Thomas, Sr., Frank (Brenda) Cooper, Cecil (Cathy) Thomas, Sr., all of Palatka; Kenneth (Angela) Thomas, San Antonio, Texas; Sisters, Nora (Bobby) Walker, Sr., Muskegon, Michigan, Pearlee Youman, Elizabeth (Wylie) Shingle, Marsha Miller, Linda (Jimmy) Taylor, Rose Lewis, Gwen Harrell, all of Palatka; Sandra (Victor) Peeples, Palm Coast, ; Stepbrother, Lee Precious Jones, East Palatka; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, February 11th at the Chapel of Serenity. A Celebration of her life and legacy will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 12th at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Ave, Palatka, Rev. Karl N. Flagg, Pastor. Her Pastor, Elder Antonio V. Ruth, pastor of Zion Temple Church of God in Christ, is the eulogist; Superintendent H. Wayne Colbert, Officiating.

Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.

The cortege will assemble at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the Wards residence, 224 Holly Lane, Palatka.
