Ora Bell Aunt Sue Tharpe, 82, of Palatka, passed away on Tuesday, Sept 15th 2009 at Haven Hospice of the Lakes Roberts Care Center. She was a native of Edgefield, South Carolina, born Friday, April 15, 1927. She was one of 13 children born to Walter & Lucy (Jenkins) Ligon. Aunt Sue recently moved to Palatka, from Jersey City, New Jersey where she resided for over 65 years. She was a retired Laundry worker. She studied with the Jehovahs Witnesses and came to know the marvelous truths that Jehovah holds out in his word, the Bible. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Elijah Tharpe and brothers Oblin (twin), Alvin, Walter, Cleveland, Jerome, Woodrow; Melvin; Sisters, Marie & Evelyn preceded her in eternal rest.

To cherish her memories, 3 Sisters, Malinda Merritt, Palatka; Annie Willie Tolen, Batesburg, South Carolina; Beatrice Holloway, Philadelphia, PA and a host of other relatives.

A memorial service will be held 2p.m. Sunday, September 20, at the Chapel of Serenity 2400 Madison St., Palatka, Brother Walter Merritt, Officiating. Family will receive friends at her niece residence, 2127 Diana Dr., Palatka following the memorial service.
