Ontario' Deon Reid, 37, of Jacksonville, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at UF Shands Hospital North, Jacksonville. The son of Corlis Simon Tomblin and Steven Reid, he was a native of Gainesville born on Friday, February 29, 1980. He was educated in the Putnam County School District, and was a 1998 graduate of Ace Academy, Miami. Deon earned an Associate of Arts degree from St. Johns River State College. He was formerly employed at the Hastings Youth Academy. He was a criminal justice intern at the FL Department of HRS. Deon also owned and operated Reid's Lawn Service, Jacksonville. He was of the Pentecostal faith and in his early years, attended First Born Church of the Living God. He was an avid sports enthusiast and the Miami Hurricanes was his favorite college team. Deon also enjoyed caring for the elderly and making people laugh.

He was preceded in eternal rest by his maternal grandparents, Johnnie Lee Simon and Emma Pearl Moore; paternal grandparents, Leroy Reid and Loretta Young Nixon.

Brooks, Palatka; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, November 24 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Ontario's Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, November 25 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka. Pastor Beverly Canty, Pastor of Higher Dimensions of Hope, Palatka, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
