Olga Iris Mendez was born on Friday, February 9, 1940 to  Manuel Garcia and Rita Ortiz in Villalba, Puerto Rico. For several years, she worked as a Home Health Aide. She enjoyed sewing clothes, planting flowers, coloring books, completing word search puzzles and spending time with family.

Olga was affiliated with the Latin American Council and was a member of a local Pentecostal ministry. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 91.

In addition to her parents, Olga was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Jose. D. Mendez; son, Rolando Mendez; daughters, Elizabeth Ard and Rosa N. Leon; grandchild, Jose E. Leon.

Olga entered eternal rest on Friday, March 14, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Precious memories of Olga will be forever treasured by her five children, Jose (Judith Figueroa)  Mendez; Olga E. (Emilio) Moreno, Yolanda I. Saxena, Abigail (Angel M.) Torres and Iris Roman; son in law, Eliseo Leon; grandchildren, Angelo, Andres, Daniel, Dorcas, Rosita, Eliseo, Beatriz, Daysha, Deborah, Neliris, Genesis and Jose R.; brother, Jerry Garcia; sisters, Emilia Sanchez, Rita Yolanda Garcia, Rosa Rodriguez and Carmen Vega.
