IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Odis Lee
Reese
July 16, 1950 – February 9, 2026
Early Years
Odis Lee Reese, born to James Reese Sr. and Mrs. Luevina Reese on July 16, 1950, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was educated in the Clay County School system and was a proud graduate of the 1969 Clay High School class. Odis thoroughly enjoyed himself and actively participated in the sport of basketball during his high school years.
During his life, Odis consistently encouraged those closest to him. He particularly loved to joke and make others laugh. Fishing was one of his favorite hobbies until his health began to decline. At home, Odis enjoyed peace and serenity, often retreating to his quiet outdoor environment.
Years of Love, Growth and Remembering
Odis was united in marriage to Tinyka Reynolds on June 21, 1989. Together they enjoyed 37 years of learning, traveling and growing together.
Early in marriage, Odis re-dedicated his life to Christ and attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church on a regular basis under the leadership of Rev. Johnny Bryant. He continued his discipleship at Words of Life Ministries, St. Augustine, under the anointed and faithful leadership of Pastor Nathan White until his transition.
In addition to his loving wife, Tinyka, he leaves a large and loving family to cherish a life filled with many fond memories; sons and daughters, Marlon Martin, ShaTaundia (Anthony) Foreman, Fannethia Berryhill, Tiffany (Adrian) Jordan, Robert (Amanda) Berryhill, Jr.; siblings, Rev. John Reese, Milton (Cynthia) Reese, Clarence (Melody) Reese, and William (Schelita) Reese, Diane (Charles) Frazier; aunts, Geneva Presha and Ethel Wright; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Reynolds; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Reginald, Keith, Rosalind, Angelia and Valerie; 18 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; god-brother, Larry Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, other caring and supportive relatives and friends.
Moments of Transition
In the early morning of February 9, 2026, Odis passed away peacefully, holding the hands of his beloved wife and granddaughter. He quietly transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest.
Throughout his final days, he was surrounded by the steadfast love of his family — children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, and cherished friends — whose presence brought him comfort and peace.
Odis has joined a “Great Cloud of Witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1), including his parents James Reese Sr., Luevina Reese, brothers James Reese, Jr., and Jesse Reese.
Visitation of family and friends will be held 10-11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life commencing at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 21, at Victory Preparatory School, 110 Masters Dr, St. Augustine. Rev. Nathan White, Words of Life Ministries, is the eulogist.
