Nuitrelle Retea Armstrong-Brown, 39, of Grandin, entered the sunset of life on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. Nuitrelle, a lifelong resident of Grandin, was born Thursday, August 28, 1975 in Gainesville, Florida to Venerable and Jannie Dell (Davis) Armstrong, Sr. She was educated in the Putnam County School District (Interlachen High School Class of 1993). Nuitrelle continued her education at St. Johns River Community College. She was a member of Powerhouse Faith & Praise Church of God, Gainesville serving as program coordinator & church announcer. Nuitrelle was formerly employed with the Department of Juvenile Justice as a youth counselor for 10 years. Her hobbies included computer technology, photography, baking, and singing. She was preceded in eternal rest by her beloved father, Bishop Venerable Armstrong, Sr.; brother, Venerable Armstrong, Jr.; sister, Drucilla Armstrong; maternal grandparents, Elliott & Mary Etta Davis; paternal grandparents, Esau & Malethia Armstrong; nephew, Cavon Blount; niece, Destiny Armstrong. To cherish her memories: husband of 9 years, Frederick Brown, Grandin; son, Leroy T. Oxendine, Grandin; loving mother, Pastor Jannie Dell Armstrong, Grandin; sisters, Della (Anthony) Davis-McCaskill, Interlachen; Valerie Armstrong, Leesburg; Nicole Armstrong, Palatka; brothers, Elias Armstrong, Grandin; Ira (Heather) Armstrong, Ocala; Van (Cynthia) Blount, Brooklyn, NY; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 16th at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 17th, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 Saint Johns Avenue, Palatka, Rev. Karl N. Flagg, pastor. Bishop Edward Davis, Pastor of Harvest Temple Church of God, Palatka, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
