Norma Jean Neeley, 75, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Community Hospice, Bailey Center for Caring, St. Augustine. The daughter of Elray Swain and Bertha (Ardis) Swain, she was born on Tuesday, July 2, 1946 in Ft. Myers. She was educated in the Volusia County School District and a 1962 graduate of Euclid High School, Deland. Norma held multiple Early Childhood and Pre-K certifications. She was employed for over 30 years with RCMA Palatka Child Development Center. She was a faithful member of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as president of the usher board, secretary of the Missionary Society, as well as a member of the hospitality committee. Norma found joy in serving the local community, caring for children, serving the church, and she also enjoyed fishing, cooking soulful meals, and sewing.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Alonzo Neeley; brother, Hercules Woodridge.

She leaves to cherish her memories: son, Aaron Neeley; sister, Barbara Ann Hicks, Jacksonville; godson, Paul L. Lofties, Palatka; goddaughter, Leonna "Nana" Fountain, Palatka; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-6:30 p.m., Friday, March 11 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Norma's Life will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 12 at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 N. 19 ^th Street, Palatka. Reverend Anthony Q. Robinson, Sr., Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
