Obituary

Nicosia Shamaria Clark, 19, native and lifelong resident of Palatka, entered the sunset of life unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, May 1, 2015. The daughter of Lashawnda Katrice Clark and Alfred Grant, Jr., she was born on Tuesday, April 9, 1996. She was a 2014 graduate of Palatka High School. Nicosia enjoyed playing the clarinet in Palatka High School's marching band. "Cosia's" favorite hobbies included dancing and spending time with family. Nicosia was a cashier at Popeye's. She was preceded in eternal rest by her paternal grandparents, Alfred, Sr., and Annie Grant; aunt, Sherry Clark; uncle, Tavaris Clark. She leaves to cherish her memories: her 1 year old son, Jeremy Myles, Jr., Palatka; mother, Lashawnda Clark (Ira Robertson), Palatka; father, Alfred Grant, Jr., Palatka; like a father, Joseph Brinson, Sr., Palatka; maternal grandparents, Frank and Christine Clark, East Palatka; maternal great-grandmother, Mamie Passmore Clark, Palatka; siblings, Lashanti Brinson, DeZarae Brinson, Takeria Brinson, Joseph Brinson, Jr., Tavaris Brinson, Alfred Grant III, Jayvean Deering, all of Palatka; aunts, Tangela (Leroy) Jackson, Talena Clark, Angela Clark, Frankia Clark, Palatka, Patricia (Variane) Guess, Thelma McCray, Jacksonville; uncles, Timothy Colson, Clifton (Shannon) Ellington, Jr., Palatka, Frank (Temekia) Clark, Jr., Palm Coast, Antoine (Stacy) Clark, Gainesville, Keith (Jameshia) Clark, East Palatka; special friend (father of her son), Jeremy Myles, Sr., Palatka; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 8, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 3 p.m., Saturday, May 9, at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 719 Reid Street, Palatka, Reverend James McGriff, Pastor. Elder Jarvis F. Wright, Pastor, New St. Paul Church of God in Christ, Seville, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery, Palatka. The cortege will assemble at 2:20 p.m., at the Clark's residence on Alabama Avenue.
