Obituary

Nevada Sheree Grice, 47, of Palatka, peacefully entered the sunset of life on Friday, August 27, at her residence, surrounded by family.  Affectionately known to family as "Bali," she was the daughter of Leonard Grice, Sr. and Josephine Kay Grice, born on Saturday, December 15, 1973 in Palatka, FL. Nevada was educated in the Putnam and Alachua County School Districts, and was awarded a Special Needs Diploma. Despite her childhood disabilities, Nevada strived to treat everyone respectfully with the love of God.

She attended Life Changing Outreach Ministries Inc. under the leadership of Bishop Keith & Pastor Judy Woodard. She enjoyed greeting members and guests with a warm smile and a handshake. In her leisure time Nevada loved to dance with her nieces and nephews (Ja'zire, Chloe, Kayla, Clara, Kamyyah, Jaeshaun & Jaylan) and watch television.

In addition to her father, Nevada was preceded in eternal rest by her sister, Sharon Trower Walker, paternal grandparents, Robert & Bertha Grice, maternal grandparents, Joe & Queen Johnson, bonus grandmother, Eddie Mae Graham, uncles and aunts.

Nevada leaves to cherish her memories: mother: Josephine (Charlie) Lawton, Palatka, sisters: Ingrid Armstrong, Palatka, Lashonda Grice (Luis) Velazquez, Palatka, Charlene Lawton, Ocala, brothers: Leonard Grice Jr., Perry; Lenny Grice, Graceville; Edward Lawton, Jacksonville; Eddie Lawton, San Mateo;  aunts, Prophetess Rebecca Boykin, Christine Grice, Pastor Judy (Keith) Woodard, Ollie Johnson, uncles, Joseph Ray (Bobbie) Johnson, Joseph Grice; great-aunts, Dolfair Moreland, Thelma Jones, and Beaulah Jones; special friend, Shamika Kaymore; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, cousins and step-siblings.
