Obituary

Deaconess Negla P. Bobb, 86, retired nurses aide of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Palatka Health Care Center following an extended illness.

She was a native of the British colony of Guyana, South America, born Saturday, December 29, 1923. The oldest daughter of Reginald and Winnifred (Brown) Roach, she was educated in the Guyana School system at Ann's Grove Methodist School. Negla was converted at an early age and was a member of the Anns Grove Methodist Church. In June of 1957 she was united in holy matrimony to Wesley O. Bobb. In 1959 they relocated to London, England, in 1971 to Brooklyn, New York and subsequently moved to Palatka in 1976 where they resided for the past 34 years. She has been a faithful member of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church for over 32 years. She served faithfully over the years in the Deaconess Ministry, Missionary Society, Senior Ministry and formerly sang in the Senior Choir. Mother Bobb enjoyed Prayer meeting, Bible study, Sunday school, visiting the sick, helping the needy and spent many loyal years with the Palatka Community Prayer Band. Negla was an excellent cook and her favorite book was the Holy Bible.

In addition to her parents, her beloved daughter Lynette Dalrymple and brother, Cecil Singh, preceded her in eternal rest.

She leaves to cherish the precious memories: Devoted Husband of over 52 years, Deacon Wesley O. Bobb, Palatka; Son, Conrad Henry, Louisville, KY; Brothers, Ivelaw Singh; London; Horace Singh, Ontario, Canada; Sister, Doreen Roberts, Guyana; 2 Grandchildren, Marion Dalrymple and Lauren Dalrymple-Sterling, both of London; 4 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Colville Bobb, Guyana; sisters-in-law, June Singh, London; Iris Telford, Guyana; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends.

Visitation of family and Friends will be Saturday, March 13 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chapel of Serenity.

Homegoing Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 14 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Pastor, eulogist. The cortege will assemble at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bobbs residence, (Holly Ridge Apartments).

Interment will be in the Palatka Memorial Gardens.
