Nathan Joye, Jr., 61, of Pomona Park entered the sunset of life on Thursday, April 4th at Haven Hospice of the Lakes-Roberts Care Center. A native of Fayetteville, NC, he was born on Saturday, November 10, 1951 to Nathan ,Sr. & Pearlie (Williams) Joye. Nathan was baptized at an early age at Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Church, Wade, NC. He was educated in the Cumberland County School District (Fayetteville, NC) and later enrolled in Job Corps. Subsequently, he relocated to Pomona Park and resided there for 20 years. He was an agricultural laborer. He enjoyed spending time with his family including his dog, Calzone. In addition to his parents, Nathan was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, Jeffery Joye. He leaves to cherish his memories, sisters, Maggie Joye; Patricia Joye, Mary Largent, all of Fayetteville, NC; Ruby (Steven) Mason, Birmingham, AL; brother, Isaiah (Elizabeth) Joye, Spring Lake, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 12 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 12: 30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at New Mt. Tamo Baptist Church, 33 S. Railroad Ave., Pomona Park, Reverend Theodore McRae pastor is the eulogist. Interment will be in Mt. Tamo Cemetery, Pomona Park.
