Lula Naomi Tinnin McLaurin, 102, of Palm Coast (former resident of Arlington VA) entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at AdventHealth Hospice Care Center. A native of Mebane, NC, she was the daughter of Alexander and Patience Tinnin, born on Sunday, August 6, 1916 and the youngest of nine children.  She was educated in the Wake County School District at Berry O'Kelly Training School near Raleigh, NC. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Home Economics at Shaw University. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. While attending Shaw University, Naomi met the love of her life, Arthur Leroy "Mac" McLaurin and they were united in marriage in Washington, DC.  She was a longtime 56-year member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Arlington, serving in the Education Ministry, Choir ministry, Kitchen Committee, Ladies Auxiliary, Senior Usher Board, and Deaconess Ministry.   Naomi was a substitute teacher for the Arlington and Fairfax County School Systems.  She was a retired Accounting Clerk with the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development. Naomi relocated to Palm Coast with her son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Patricia McLaurin. Naomi became a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Palm Coast where she served as a member of the Hospitality Ministry. She enjoyed cooking, singing, going to church, and spending time with her family.

Naomi was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Arthur Leroy McLaurin; and daughter, Naomi Yvonne Jukes.

She leaves to cherish her memories: son, Arthur Leon (Patricia) McLaurin ; son-in-law, Jimmie Jukes; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, two adopted sons, Robert Mobley and Leonard Powell ; and a host of other family and friends
