Murline Beauford West, 82, of East Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. The daughter of Will and Louisa (Lamar) Beauford, she was born on Tuesday, March 30, 1937 in Cordele, GA. Murline was a 1956 honor graduate of Central Academy High School, Palatka. She earned a degree in Childcare Development at Tuskegee University in Alabama. She was united in marriage to John West and their union was blessed with two daughters and a son. Murline was a faithful member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, serving as Food Committee Chairman, Usher Ministry President, Sunday School Secretary, Mission Secretary, Choir Ministry Assistant Secretary, and Church Custodian. She was a dedicated and compassionate volunteer with Haven Hospice for over 20 years. She truly loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted Putnam County Sheriff's Office School Crossing Guard, serving 21 years until retirement. She also work for Head Start Program for 25 years as a Teacher's Assistant.
In addition to her parents, Murline was preceded in eternal rest by her daughter, Joy "Chip" West.
To cherish her memories: her beloved children, Carl C. West and Helen P. (Charles) Howard; grandchildren, Ryan L. Marrero, Sheba S. Howard, Gainesville; brothers, Jesse Beauford, Palatka, Issac (Flora) Beauford, Federal Point; "like a son", Ronji (Jenefer) West, Palatka; "like a daughter", Melissa K. Beauford; sisters, Christa B. Faison, Miami, Inez Beauford, Doretha Beauford, Ethel Holcy, Lula Mattear, all of Palatka; special friends, Barbara Ellis, Dorothy, Mullens, special cousins, Mary Howard, Willie (Nellie) Shivers, Daisy Battles, Johnny Dexter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
