Obituary

Carrie Bell Frazier Wright, 97, of Palatka, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Haven Hospice of the Lakes, Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. Carrie Bell was a native of Barwick, Georgia, born Monday, January 13, 1913. The third of ten children born to Jim and Alice (Reddick) Frazier, she was educated in the Brooks County, Georgia school system. She has resided in Palatka since the early 1930s and was a loyal member and longtime first lady of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Sister Carrie Wright was a devout and humble Christian lady with a total commitment to God, family, church and community and the work shes done, speak volumes for her. Among her pastimes include walking, sewing, cooking (especially baking cakes) and taking care of her cats.

Her numerous church affiliations include, member and past president of Choir #1; member and past president of the Missionary Society; Teacher, Cradle Roll Sunday School Class for over 40 years; Pastors Aide Ministry; and President of the City-wide Missionary Society. Her union affiliations within Union Saint James Baptist Association, includes, chaplain, Womens Department; chaplain, Minister Wives Division; Arts & Crafts and Worship Leaders. Sister Wright is preceded in eternal rest by her parents, Jim and Alice Frazier; her beloved husband of over 60 years, the Reverend James Alger Wright (pastor of Greater Shiloh for over 49 years; preceded her on March 1, 1993) and her siblings.

To cherish her memories: Loving daughters and sons, Marjorie McClain and Lillian Hines (Edward), both of Palatka, Regina Doe (Benny), and Drayton Wright (Linda) both of Lithonia, GA; Andre Wright, Conyers, GA; 13 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and caring friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday December 22 (today) at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 N. 19th Street, Palatka and

Homegoing Celebration will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 23 at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Anthony Q. Robinson, Sr., pastor, is the eulogist and the Reverend Dr. George E. McRae, presiding. The cortege will assemble 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hines residence, 240 Crystal Cove Drive, Palatka.

Interment will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens, Palatka
