Moses Marion
Bryant, Sr.
March 8, 1931 – August 15, 2025
Moses Marion Bryant, Sr., 94, longtime, retired Putnam County Educator, of East Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent's-Riverside Medical Center, Jacksonville. The son of Elisha Bryant and Anita (Thompson) Bryant, he was born on Sunday, March 8, 1931 in Orange Mills (East Palatka). He was educated in Putnam and Volusia County School Systems.
He continued his education at Bethune-Cookman College where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. He later earned a Masters Degree in Education from Florida State University.
Moses was married to the love of his life, Doris W. Bryant for over 62 years before her transition on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. They were longtime, former members of Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church, East Palatka, where he served as a Steward. In December 2011, they joined Victorious Faith Impact Ministries COGIC, where she served on the Mother's Board, and he was the Senior Deacon until both their passing. Moses' professional career was 37 years as a Teacher and Counselor in the Putnam County School District.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in eternal rest by his son-in-law, Jerome Hill; sister, Lowee McIntosh.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Terri Hill, Jacksonville; sons, Moses (Robin) Bryant, Jr., Carrolton, GA; Wendell (Atsuko) Bryant, Peoria, AZ; sister, Juanita Thomas; brothers and sisters-in-law: Lois Mixon, Phyllis Holden, Annette Bryant, LaRita (James) Tanner, Amilida Anderson, Jackie (Winston) McIntosh, Floyd (Inez) Waters, A. Randolph (Gail) Waters; 9 grandchildren, Kacy Hill, Terrill Hill, Mario "BJ" (Tori) Bryant, Crystal Bryant Buchanan, Janet (Omar) Lyle, Jennifer Bryant, Nicholas (Jessica) Kirkland, Shalanna (George) Hill Bailey, Moses (Michell) Bryant, III; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 4-6 p.m., Friday, August 22 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Moses' Life will commence at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 23 at Victorious Faith Impact COGIC, 823 Husson Avenue, Palatka, Superintendent H. Wayne Colbert, Pastor and eulogist. Interment will follow in Pattersonville Cemetery, East Palatka.
