Ms. Morris Jean "Boo-Boo" Maxwell, 56, of Palatka, transitioned into sweet, eternal rest on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Baptist Clay Medical Campus, Fleming Island, following an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, Morris was the daughter of Ethel Lee Calhoun and G. B. Maxwell, born Tuesday, July 2, 1957. She was educated in the Putnam County School District (Central Academy). She was very industrious and a dedicated agricultural employee. When Sister Maxwell accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, she became a devoted, loyal member of Pentecostal Church of God in Christ and often quoted, "I'm a member of the blood-washed fellowship of the unashamed!" Morris was a "people-person" who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her beloved family, especially her dearly loved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her maternal grandparents, James and Estella Calhoun; brother, Troy Eubanks; sister, Barbara Jean Austin; aunts, Jimmie Lee Wilson, Marion Williams, Dorothy Calhoun, and Leola Calhoun; uncles, David Calhoun and Samuel Nelson. Those who cherish her memories: sisters and brothers, Cora Hightower, Larcina Moore, Brenda Bryant, Arzita Eubanks, George Maxwell, Calvin (Rachel) Maxwell, and Kenneth (Shirley) Eubanks, all of Palatka; Jimmy Eubanks, Johnson Crossroads; aunt, Olivia Nelson, Palatka; godmother, Eva Lou Keeley, Palatka; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 14, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 15, at Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, Superintendent Johnny L. Shaw, Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Pattersonville Memorial Cemetery.
