Monica Monique Jones was born on Sunday, July 8, 1973 in Poughkeepsie, New York to Stephanie Robena Johnson. Monica was a Class of 1991 graduate of Palatka High School who later served proudly in the United States Air Force and retired with an honorable discharge. She lived in Dayton, Ohio for a number of years and most recently resided in Middleburg. In her leisure time, Monica enjoyed watching tv and sewing. She was a self proclaimed beautician and her family referred to her as a secret gossiper.

Monica was preceded in eternal rest by her mother, Stephanie Johnson.

On Monday, March 23, 2026, Monica entered the sunset of life at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville.

Cherished memories of Monica remain with her daughter, Jalliyah Jones; brother, Sheldon Johnson; sisters, Debbie Johnson, Stacy (Jeffery) Miller, Tisheco (Keith) Hendrieth, Lateia Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation with family is scheduled for 10 a.m. - 12 noon, Friday, April 3rd at “Flagg’s Chapel of Serenity.”
