Mirial Lavonne "Mario" Moten, 60, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, April 26, 2018 in Crescent City. A native of New Smyrna Beach, he was born on Wednesday, April 2, 1958 to Cardy and Mildred (Meeks) Moten. Mario was educated in the Volusia County School District and was a 1976 graduate of Mainland High School, Daytona Beach. He was a long-time successful entrepreneur specializing in flooring and home décor. Mario was a member of Union Bethel A.M. E. Church in Crescent City. He loved nature and animals, along with swimming at the beach, cooking and decorating.
He was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, Kenneth Moten. It is with great sadness, we announce Mario's transition and his jovial spirit and caring heart will be missed by a host of family and friends.
Mario will be lovingly remembered and forever treasured by his: cherished daughter, Kimiri (Corey) Smith, Atlanta, GA; parents, Cardy (Reverend Mildred) Moten, Crescent City; siblings, Cardy (Jane) Moten, Jr., Deltona; Lorraine (Roderick) Watson, Tangela (William) Davis, both of Daytona Beach, sister-in-law, Cecelia Moten, Crescent City; companion, Katie Moody, Crescent City; nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be held 4-6 p.m., Thursday, May 3, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity", 2400 Madison Street, Palatka. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, May 5 at Sunrise Park, 1135 Riverside Drive, Holly Hill, FL 32117.
