Obituary

Minnie Lee Campbell Jackson, 86, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital, Palatka. The daughter of Joseph and Rosa Lee (Evans) Campbell, she was born on Monday, August 9, 1937 in Palatka, Florida. She was educated in the Putnam County School District and was a 1956 graduate of Central Academy High School. Minnie served at Macedonia Baptist Church of Francis, under the Pastoral leadership of the late Reverend Julius Jackson.  She was employed as a Daycare Operator at the Northside Neighborhood Facility from the early 1970s until it officially closed. She began working at Georgia Pacific Pulp and Paper Mill from the late 1970s until retirement in 2000. Simultaneously, she was also an Avon Representative and was known as the "Avon Lady." Minnie's grandchildren affectionately called her "Darling." She was an avid gardener who enjoyed shopping, watching NBA and WNBA (avid basketball fan), and solving crossword and word search puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Walter A. Jackson; sister- and brother-in-law, Thomas and Josephine Johnson; nephews, Johnnie Lee Johnson, Joseph Johnson; nieces, Lanell Johnson Williams, Nordina Johnson.

To cherish her memories: son, Alfred Jerome Jackson, I; daughter, Cossondra Lavern Jackson; grandsons, Alfred J. (Courtney) Jackson, II, Wakeem A. (Desirae) Jackson, Sr.,  NaJee D. Jackson; great grandchildren,  Wakeem J. Jackson, Jr., Sienna Z. Jackson, WaDaGee A. Jackson, Da'Jhada M. Jackson, Jasmin N. Boyles, Layla M. Jackson, Ellasynne Jackson; "like a brother," Jimmy Floyd Ware; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, especially, special nieces and nephew, Rosetta Robinson, Tavarious Williams Wright, Lee A. Johnson; goddaughter, Christine Jackson; and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 17; Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Reverend Delton Nealy, Sr., Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, eulogist. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
