Mother Minnie Ree (Bell) Hill, 85, of East Palatka, entered eternal rest to be with the Lord on Monday, December 2, 2013 at her residence. A native of Chipley (Washington County), she was the daughter of Bryant Bell, Sr. and Florida Smith Bell, born on Saturday, May 12, 1928. She has been a resident of East Palatka since the early 1940's. In 1958, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior under the leadership of Bishop Frank Griffin of the "Holiness Church in Jesus Christ" in East Palatka. In 1987, she joined New Life Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Drayton Scott and subsequently became a dedicated Church Mother of New Life Temple Fellowship, Inc. under the leadership of Bishop Mark A. Jones in 1997. Mother Hill faithfully served her church until declining health prevailed. Her favorite song was "You Gonna Tell Who Been Praying After While". Mother Hill's favorite hobbies included cooking, watching western movies and Texas Ranger; listening to her favorite television evangelist, Bishop G.E. Patterson and gospel music. In addition to her parents, Mother Hill was preceded in eternal rest by her sisters, Jessie McMurray, Bessie Bell, Carnelia Bailey, and Inez Moore; brother, Bryant Bell, Jr., great-grandchild, Shy'Mariah Beckom, father-in-law, James C. Hill; stepfather-in-law, Bishop Frank Griffin, mother-in-law, Missionary Bertha Griffin. Those who treasure her loving memories: 3 daughters, Eartha Mae (Earnest, Jr.) Tiller, Palatka; Overseer Evangelist Minnie Hagans, East Palatka; Joann Hill, Palatka; 2 sisters, Alice Williams and Ruthie Mae Manning, both of Crawfordville, FL; 8 grandchildren, Kenneth Tiller, Felicia Wilson, Sharon (Benjamin) Randolph, Joyce Hill, James (Stephanie) Hill, Christopher Hunter, Carol Curry, Kenneth Hill; 10 great-grandchildren, Shoniece Tiller, Jermesha McGhee, Jerimiah McGhee, Ta'tanesha Crawford, Shay'Mariah Beckom, Jusanti Hill, Benjamin Randolph, Jordan Randolph, Shanell Randolph, Sy'nirra Hill; 3 great-great grandchildren, Joseph Crawford, Tremia Camps, Shi'Anna Bozeman; sister-in-law, Mary D. Bell, Tallahassee and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday, December 7 at New Life Temple Fellowship OCI, 161 Louis Broer Rd. W., East Palatka. Homegoing Celebration will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 8, at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 5th Street, E., East Palatka, Rev. James Sloan, Sr., Pastor. Bishop Mark A. Jones, presiding prelate of New Life Temple Fellowship OCI, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Pattersonville Memorial Cemetery, East Palatka.
