Milton Murphy, Sr., 71, of Pierson, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at AdventHealth Stuart F. Meyer Hospice Care, Palm Coast. The son of Rosetta Murphy and William Parker, he was born on Saturday, June 27, 1953 in Chiefland, FL. Mr. Murphy was a member of Calvary Full Gospel Church, DeLeon Springs. He was a former member of True Foundation Ministries of Crescent City, where he served as an usher and deacon. Mr. Murphy enjoyed boxing, exercising, BBQing, cooking, eating, traveling, "reporting the news" (gossiping), attending family reunions, and spending quality time with family and friends. He was employed by Volusia County School System as an Agricultural Specialist and Custodian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his wife, Vivian Murphy; children, Erskine Curry, Reginald "Keith" Curry; stepmother, Dizzy T. Parker; paternal siblings, Raymond Parker, Alfreda P. Freeman; maternal siblings, Moses William Sr, Jimmy Murphy, Mary Murray.
He leaves to cherish his memories: sons and daughters, Milton (Kimberly Goodwin) Murphy Jr., Linderick "Shawn" (Lourens) McAllister, Kimberly Stevenson, Aquavia Jones, Lisa (Marco Miler) Washington, Keyunta Murphy; paternal siblings, Quinton Parker, Bozell Parker, Crosby Parker, Rosby Parker, Sharon Houston; maternal siblings, David "DeeDee" Weake, Joseph Murphy, Lavan Johnson, Daisy McFarlin; grandchildren, Tiana Vivian Murphy, Milaya Vivian Marie Murphy, Turbo O'Connor Blue Murphy, Xzondria (Devonte) Williams, Pernesha (Kimani) Clayton, Lasasha Washington, Stephanie Busch, Dewayne Gillyard, Blessing Jones, Phorever Jones, Kimiya Raylen Vivian Murphy and Keythia Nickeya Vivian Cowell; sisters-in-law, Cedell Butler, Wanda Graham, Denise Bland, Tammy Weakes, Quanda Carnegie; brothers-in-law, Preston Freeman Sr., Garnard Wright; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 30 and a Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, May 31, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church South Campus, 608 Randolph Street, Crescent City. Pastor Charles Crooms, The Hour of Power Church, is the eulogist. Interment: St. John Cemetery, Seville.
