Obituary

Mildred "Millie" Leialoha Knight, 68, of Bostwick, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at her residence. A native of Molokai, Hawaii, she was born on Wednesday, February 26, 1947, the seventh of fifteen children born to Raleigh and Alice Haili (Kauanui) Poepoe, Sr.. She was a 1965 graduate of Molokai High School and was subsequently employed by the Molokai Police Department. Upon relocating to Florida, "Millie" was employed with the Florida Department of H.R.S. as a Public Assistance Specialist for 5 years. She retired as a 20 years federal employee after 20 years of loyal service as a Social Security Claims Specialist. She was a member of Palatka Moose Lodge #184. She enjoyed hula dancing, bowling, golfing, and playing bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her beloved husband, Gary Knight (May 21, 2011). She leaves to cherish her memories: son, Curtis Anthony Kahiki Miller; daughter, Lia Naokiowailehuainuakamanu (Devin) Wahl; two grandsons, Akahi Devin Kahiki Wahl, Elijah Raleigh Ikaika Miller, all of Bostwick; siblings, Irene Keoauhu Keanini, Raleigh (Leilani) Poepoe, Jr., Blossom Pualeionaona Poepoe, Kelson Kapule (Karen) Poepoe, Woodrow Kaipo (Barbara) Poepoe, and Valerie Hart, all of Molokai; Robin Poepoe, Esther Ekekela Ridgeway, both of Keaau, HI; Mabel Kahiolani (Scott) Wikum, Makawao, Maui,; James Kahiki Poepoe, Rutland, VT; Jaslyn Noelani (Jerry) Williams, Carson City, NV; and a host of other relatives and friends, including a special & devoted niece, Tracy (Marty) Weaver, Palatka; Great grand niece, MaKenna Lewis, Palatka. Visitation of family and friends will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday, September 27 and Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m., Monday, September 28 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity". Reverend Joe Darrie, Pastor of Living Waters Church, Green Cove Springs, is officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
