Michael Marshall, 65, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Aspire at Orange Park. The son of Louise Marshall, Fred J. Marshall, Jr. and Virginia Marshall, he was born on Tuesday, January 27, 1959. During his early years, he was a member of Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, Palatka where he served in the choir ministry. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and working as a mechanic. He was formerly employed by the Palatka Housing Authority and Palatka Gas Authority until his health declined.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his wife, Mary Louise Hill-Marshall; grandson, Day'Quones B. Hill; brothers, Edwin "Butch" Marshall, Clarence "Chuck" Griffin; and a host of aunts and uncles including: Mary Bradley, Willie Brown, George Williams, Andrew Williams, D.A. Williams, MC Marshall, Freddie Rouse, Charlie Fields, James Pringle.
He leaves to cherish his memories: stepchildren, Ellis B. Williams, Jr., Kathryn Hill (Dea. Willie "Luke" Jr.) Simmons, LaShronda "Nicole" Williams, LaToya A. Gilyard, Tanika W. Hill, Merita S. Williams; grandchildren, Dishawn, Dontae, Ashanti, Tonika, Kelvon, Shantae, Chavarious, LaRon, Amiyah, Gemonie, Shirkara, Ellis, Ellis III, Ellisa, Quan, Jayvontae, Khristian; brothers, Dea. Fred Calvin (Linda) Marshall, James Blakely, John Blakely, Dea. Marvin "Bobby" Marshall; sisters, Cynthia Marshall, Zetta Marie Walker; devoted caregiver, Spencer Mulberry; aunt, Blondeva Fields, Barbara King; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 18 and Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 19 at Flagg's Chapel of Serenity. Elder Derrick Gainey, Pastor of High Springs Church of God by Faith and Hope to the World Family Church, Gainesville. Interment: Oak Hill West Cemetery.
