Obituary

Melvin was John and Bertha Miller's eighteenth child. He was born on December 7, 1967 in New Brunswick, NJ and attended North Brunswick Township High School. Following high school, Melvin moved to Crescent City with his parents and has been a resident since 1985. He was employed by the City of Crescent City Parks Department. Melvin was a member of the Pentecostal Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Apostle Bernard and Pastor Lillie Tuggerson. Melvin loved being with his family and enjoyed long drives and flea marketing. His hobbies included writing, playing the drums and he was an avid wrestling fan. Melvin was predeceased by his loving parents, Elder John and Bertha Miller; brothers, Joseph, Clifford, Allen, and Tony Miller; sister, Bertha Anne Jones; and sister-in-law, Gloria Miller. Melvin Wayne "Bud" Miller was called to glory on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. To cherish his memories are his siblings: Roscoe (Carrie) Miller, Henderson, NC; Carrie Bean of Pavo, GA., Clarence Miller, Orange Park; Ernest Miller, New Brunswick, NJ, John (Betty) Miller, Washington, NC., Kelly (Laverne) Miller, Crescent City; Linda (Eddie) Robinson, Willingboro, NJ., Evelyn Miller, New Brunswick, NJ., Bonnie Shelton, Chicago, IL., Barbara (John) Pugh, Crescent City; Raymond (Sandra) Miller, Kissimmee; Rose (William) Nobles, Jacksonville; and a host of other relatives, devoted co-workers and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 16, from 6-8 p.m. at New Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 1227 Old Highway 17, Rev. Brian C. Thomas, Pastor. Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at True Foundation Ministries, 608 Randolph Street, Crescent City, Elder Gwendolyn George, Pastor. Pastor Lillie Tuggerson, Pentecostal Full Gospel Church, is the eulogist. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Repast will be at the Crescent City Woman's Club, 604 North Summit Street.
