Melvin "Doddy" Jerome Brcik, 86, of Interlachen, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, A native of Ironwood, Michigan, he was born on Wednesday, August 15, 1928, to Jerome & Josephine (Sayvera) Brcik. Melvin formerly resided in Beaverton, MI, before moving to Florida in 2000 with his beloved wife Teresita. In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, Jerome R. Brcik (1993), sister, Virginia Tietz Mason (2002). He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife, Teresita Brcik, eight children, Doug Brcik, Arizona, Victor Brcik, Brant, MI, Jerry Brcik, Jeffrey Brcik, both of St. Charles, MI, Shirley (Ken) Forshee, Rachel (Tyler) Finney, both of Midland, MI, Michelle Brcik, Charlotte NC, Jessica Brcik, Chandler, AZ, (Melvin was very proud of all his children) six grandchildren: Carter, Tanner, Logan, Parker, Jaden and Jackson, and a host of other relatives and friends. Interment will be in Brant, MI, (in November), where his parents and two siblings are laid to rest. A private dinner will be arranged in Florida as a celebration of his life, date to be announced.
