Melody A. Futch, 59, of Middleburg, entered the sunset of life on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center, Orange Park. The daughter of Herman, Jr. and Madie B. (Roberts) Futch, she was born on Sunday, November 25, 1962 in Jacksonville. She was a 1981 graduate of Clay High School, Green Cove Springs. She furthered her education at St. Augustine Vocational Technical College. "Mel" worked as a Radio Broadcaster at WAPE, a Medical Ward Clerk at Oak Terrace Health & Rehabilitation Center in Green Cove Springs, and a Bus Driver for Clay County District Schools. She was a foster mother to many and an entrepreneur owning a Beauty Supply store. "Mel" was a member of Emmanuel Christian Fellowship. She enjoyed fishing, singing, crocheting, shopping at garage sales, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in eternal rest by her parents.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: daughters, Latoya Futch, Middleburg; Chasity Fleming, Jacksonville; sons , Maurice (Crystal Singletary) Futch Sr., Dothan, AL; Derrick Dunham, Middleburg; brother , Sinclair Roberts, Middleburg; sisters , Yvonne Futch, Green Cove Springs; Cynthia (Todd) Jackson, Starke; uncles , JC (Mary Ruth) Williams, Oakleaf; Willie Williams, Atlanta, GA; aunts , Elizabeth Flowers, Jacksonville; Queen Williams, Annie Rose, both of Middleburg; best friend (godmother of Latoya & Maurice Sr.), Sandra Solomon, Middleburg; 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing family and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be held 5-7 p.m., Friday, September 9 and Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 10 at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 2703 Forman Circle, Middleburg. Pastor Terry Suggs, New Hope for the Lost Christian Fellowship Center, is the eulogist. Interment: Fowler-Forman Cemetery, Middleburg.
