IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maxine
Quinones
February 12, 1957 – August 12, 2019
Maxine Quinones, 62, of Palm Coast, entered the sunset of life on Monday, August 12, 2019 at her residence. The daughter of Broggie Stevenson and Sadie Stevenson, she was born on Tuesday, February 12, 1957 in New York, New York. Sister Maxine was educated in the New York Public School System. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School. She then enrolled in Bronx Community College and graduated with an Associate of Science Degree in Business Administration/Accounting. Upon graduation, she was employed at the Bronx County Courthouse as a bookkeeper. In 1978 she joined the United States Post Office and retired in 2013 after 35 years of service.
Sister Maxine and her family moved to Willingboro, New Jersey in 1991. She joined Tabernacle Baptist Church in Burlington, New Jersey, and was baptized by the late Reverend Dr. Richard W. Jones. She was a faithful member and regularly attended bible study classes.
Sister Maxine and her husband, Juan, moved to Palm Coast, Florida in 2016. Maxine joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Palm Coast. She had a captivating smile that would brighten the day of anyone who was in her presence so much so that she joined the Greeters Ministry. She loved greeting parishioners as they entered the sanctuary while she sat in her wheelchair. She was also a member of the Ephraim Tribe.
Sister Maxine was a loving, hard-working woman, always willing to help others. She was a virtuous woman who showed compassion, love and kindness to everyone she met. She strongly believed in family and would make herself available if she was needed. She enjoyed life and would often go, with close friends and family, to various outings and social events. She also enjoyed vacationing with family.
Sister Maxine departed this Earth while battling a rare and uncommon disease. She exemplified strength and courage as she fought a good fight. Sister Maxine never complained about her condition. She would often say, "I'm not going to complain because there is nothing I can do about it. I accept it."
Preceding Maxine in death were her mother, Sadie; her father, Broggie; her brother, Arnold and sisters Bertha Mae, Bernice and Gloria.
Sweet memories of Sister Maxine will forever remain in the hearts of her devoted husband, Juan; her beautiful daughter, Keisha (Kevin); stepson, Reggie; sisters, Shirley and Lorraine; brothers, Lawrence (Gloria), Broggie Jr. (Carol) and Ronald; two grandchildren, Layla and Kevin Jr., and a host of special nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
