Mattie Lee Troutman, the daughter of Lewis Asbell and Alberta Coleman, was born on Thursday, March 5, 1942 in Penney Farms. She was educated in the Clay County School District. Mattie has been a lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs. She was employed as a custodian for the Clay County School District. Mattie especially enjoyed spending time with her family and solving crossword puzzles. Several friends could get her to give a big smile when they called her "Mattie Lou." She was of the Christian faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Willie James Troutman; daughter, Tammy McNeil; sisters, Evelyn King, Thersa Asbell; uncle, Eddie Coleman.

Mattie Lee Troutman entered the sunset of life on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Community Hospice & Palliative Care at St. Vincent Riverside Center in Jacksonville, FL.

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Patricia Tillman, Darlene Troutman; grandchildren, Willie (Wanda) Troutman, Tony Troutman, Holly Troutman, Lisa (Tommy) Troutman Lee, Amanda (Karl) Troutman Bates, Victor Vega, Brian Vega, Sabrina Tillman, Markita Bankhead, Jeremy (Charmekia) Troutman; sister, Julia (Bernard) Lee; brothers, Johnny Asbell, Johnnie Asbell; aunts, Daisy Brown, Emma Coleman; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 10 a.m.-12 noon, with Celebration of Life commencing at 12 noon at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 1300 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Green Cove Springs, Florida. Reverend Kevin Jackson, officiating.
