Obituary

Mattie Bush Sharper, 83, native and lifelong resident of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Munroe Regional Hospital in Ocala following an extended illness. The daughter of Henry and Jessie (Brinson) Bush, she was born on Wednesday, November 9, 1927 and was educated in the Putnam County School District in Crescent City. Mattie was a member of the Crescent City House of God Church and was a seasonal worker. She was the wife of Alvoid Nathan Sharper and they were the blessed parents of two sons, Nathaniel Bush and Nathan Sharper, Sr. Mattie loved the Lord and enjoyed fishing, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Mattie was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers, Jeremiah Bush and Joseph Bush; sisters, Ruby Thompson, Ida Grant, Mae Henry Atkins and Emma Wilson. She leaves to cherish her legacy of love: two sons; Nathaniel Bush; Nathan (Diane) Sharper, Sr., sisters, Nazaree Bush Batts, all of Crescent City; Nellie Bush Horne, Trenton, NJ; grandchildren, Bryan (Kassie) Sharper, U.S. Army stationed overseas in Iraq; Nathan Sharper Jr., Andrea Sharper, Crescent City; great-grandchildren, Nazarria Sharper and Mayla Sharper, both of Crescent City; godchildren, Zandra Nelson, Crescent City; Tori Norris, Kansas City, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and beloved friends, especially Mother Juniel Gillins. Visitation of family and friends will be Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 9-11 a.m. with Homegoing Celebration at 11 a.m. at The House of God Church, 1020 Clemons Lane, Crescent City, Elder Frank Matthews, pastor, is the eulogist and Elder Frances Matthews, presiding.
