Mary Louise Hill-Marshall was born on Wednesday, March 19, 1955, to Clinton Lee and LaVonia (Nash) Hill, Sr. She was a native of Starke, Florida, and was educated in the Bradford County School District. In 1970, she relocated to Palatka, Florida, and was a former member of Refuge Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, under the leadership of Bishop John McNair. On Tuesday, June 15, 1993, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Michael A. Marshall. Mary was formerly employed as a housekeeper at William Penn Motel in Palatka, Florida, and a caregiver/dietician at Kiva Assisted Living in Palatka, Florida. Mary enjoyed arts and crafts, shopping, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers, Clinton L. Hill, Jr., and George Hill; sister, Maybelle Hill; grandson, Day'Quones B. Hill; and aunt, Adelle Sheffield.
Mary Louise Hill-Marshall peacefully entered the sunset of life on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital, Palatka.
She leaves to cherish her memories: devoted husband of twenty-eight years, Michael A. Marshall of Palatka, Florida; children, Kathryn Hill (Willie "Luke") Simmons, Jr., of Pomona Park, Florida, LaShronda "Nicole" Williams of Ormond Beach, Florida, and LaToya A. Gilyard, Tanika W. Hill, Merita S. Williams, and Ellis B. (Joyce) Williams, Jr., all of Palatka, Florida; brothers, Jimmie (Frances) Green of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Willie James (Ophelia) Hill of Brooker, Florida; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Fred C. (Linda) Marshall, Marvin Marshall; sister-in-law, Cynthia Marshall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and caring friends, including Ellis "Knocky" Williams, Sr., of Savannah, Georgia, Debra A. (Gregory) Evans, Diane Deering, Jackie Williams, Ollie Mae Lewis, and Alice McGlocklin, all of Palatka, Florida.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, April 29 and Celebration of Mary's Life will be 1 p.m., Saturday, April 30 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Reverend Theodore McRae, Pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Federal Point, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
