IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha Ford
Harris
December 18, 1933 – December 1, 2025
Martha Ford Harris was born on December 18, 1933, in Palatka, Florida, to George Daniel Ford and Thelma Elease Townsend-Ford. She attended Central Academy in Palatka and spent most of her life in Putnam County before relocating to Jacksonville, Florida, in 2010, where she lived until she transitioned.
She met and married Floyd Harris in 1955. Martha worked forty-plus years as an agricultural worker for Maycheck Flower Farm. On July 8, 2012, Martha was baptized, publicly affirming her faith and dedication to the Lord. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor H. B. Charles, Jr., where she faithfully attended until her illness prevailed and made it difficult for her to attend.
She enjoyed shopping, completing word search puzzles, gardening, and was an amazing cook. She attended the Lane Wiley Senior Center, where she enjoyed spending time with friends.
One of her strongest and most beautiful qualities was the deep love she had for her family. She cherished each of them, and her devotion was evident in everything she did. Her family was her greatest pride, and the love she shared with them will continue to live on.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Isaac Ford and Jacob Ford; twin sister, Mary Ford; daughter, Floria Mae Pierre; grandchildren, Zachary Harris, Latora Horn, and Zakira Harris; and great-great grandchild, Musiah Jones.
She entered eternal rest on Monday, December 1, 2025 at her residence.
Martha leaves to cherish her memories: eleven loving and devoted sons and daughters, Henry (Kazuko) Jackson, Patricia May, Sandra (Johnnie) Manley, Juanita Phillips, Thelma (Richard) Bradley, Shelia (Larry) Horn, Rhoda Harris, Townsend (Connie) Harris, Michael Ford, George A. (Katrina) Ford and Lawun Banks; brother, George Ford; sisters, Carrie Moody and Thelma Spells; 41 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; goddaughter, Brittany Garner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Martha's life was marked by grace, strength, and an unwavering love for her family. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
